How it works

Please provide comprehensive details about your saddle and include photos taken from all angles, highlighting any scuffs, scratches, fading, or marks. Upon receipt, we will assess and email you a valuation. If you agree, please package the saddle in a box no larger than 54cmx54cmx54cm, with the saddle on its back and flaps folded inwards. If you encounter difficulties arranging carriage, we can arrange collection and provide labels for £30.00.

We take care of the cleaning, photography, and advertising of your saddle. Once a buyer is secured, we handle the sale setup, package the saddle, dispatch it, and manage the financial transactions. Following the successful sale and 28-day return window, we transfer your payment, deducting any applicable fees (commission, inward carriage, etc.), and disburse the funds to you.

Do I have to permit my saddle on trial?

Yes. All saddles sold via AH Saddles are permitted on trials within the UK. However, the buyer is required to pay for the saddle upfront. In the unlikely event that a saddle is returned with a scratch or scuff, your payment will remain secure within the saddle, and the return request will be declined to ensure your money's safety.

How much does it cost to trial a saddle?

You pay for the saddle, plus the postage. If you keep it - great! If the saddle is not the one for you, then you simply return it for a refund of the saddle price minus the returns postage fee and £20 trial fee, which contributes towards cleaning, handling and transaction fees.

How much are the commission fees? 

Our commission rates are designed to stay competitive, and we prioritize offering saddles that are typically under 5 years old as we don't keep older stock. Here are our commission rates:

• 17% for saddles valued between £1500 and £2499

• 20% for saddles valued between £800 and £1499

These rates are all-inclusive, covering any PayPal or card transaction fees, aiming to streamline the saddle selling process for you. You won't have to bother with cleaning, advertising, or handling inquiries from unreliable buyers.

Additionally, we provide a 14-day trial period as per UK distance trading regulations, allowing customers time to evaluate their purchase and a 28-day return window from the date of purchase. Moreover, we have fitting services available across most parts of the UK for customers to ensure the saddle fits perfectly if they opt for it.

Once your saddle has sold and cleared the 28-day return window, we'll promptly send you the payment.
